Our values
Rooted in Normandy, with a perspective beyond borders
As head of Auge Horizon – Notaires, Maître Gwladys Boko Boumba-Caubet leads a notarial practice that combines local roots, openness and forward thinking. Her career, at the crossroads of two legal cultures, enables her to support families and businesses in the Pays d’Auge and across France, as well as clients facing international legal situations.
Her professional journey combines fifteen years’ experience within the French notarial profession with thirteen years spent living and working in the United Kingdom. She now brings that international perspective to clients whose lives and projects extend beyond borders. With an MBA and a specialisation in private international law, Maître Boko Boumba-Caubet believes that the law must, above all, be understood, anticipated and used to help people achieve their goals.
Having returned to the Normandy of her childhood after thirteen years in the United Kingdom, she naturally chose to settle in the Pays d’Auge, drawn by the authenticity of its landscapes, the richness of its heritage, and the strength of the community ties that characterise the region.
Today, Maître Caubet works alongside an experienced team whose members all have in-depth knowledge of the Pays d’Auge, its families, businesses and local authorities. This close connection to the region, combined with a broader national and international perspective, enables the firm to support a wide range of clients.
Behind every notarial deed lies the coordinated work of an entire team. From welcoming clients to preparing files, from drafting deeds to completing formalities, everyone contributes to ensuring personalised support, clear information and legal security for every project.
Beyond providing legal support, Maître Caubet and her team seek to build lasting relationships of trust with their clients, supporting them through major life milestones as well as day-to-day decisions. Convinced that advice given at the right time can often help avoid future difficulties, they place foresight, clear communication and the quality of their advice at the heart of their practice.
This vision of the profession is fully in line with the French Notarial Profession’s raison d’être, which the entire office upholds daily:
‘Under the seal of the State,
To advise with rigour and impartiality,
To support with humanity and discretion,
To ensure the balance of intentions within the framework set by law,
To preserve deeds forever,
And thereby to foster peace at the heart of society.’
Anticipate. Clarify. Support.
We believe the role of a French notaire goes far beyond executing notarial deeds or stepping in only at life’s major milestones.
Every decision — whether it concerns your family, your assets, a property project, your business or an estate — can have legal consequences that can often be anticipated. Our role is to help you understand those consequences, so that you can make informed decisions with confidence and build your plans on solid foundations.
Anticipating
The best advice is often given before a problem arises.
Planning ahead means taking the time to consider your situation as a whole and identify the legal, financial and family implications of your choices. It also allows different options to be explored before a decision becomes difficult — or impossible — to reverse.
This approach guides every matter we handle, whatever your circumstances or the complexity of your situation.
Anticipating means helping to shape the outcome, rather than simply responding to events.
Clarifying
The law can be complex. Our role is to make it clear.
We believe that clients make better decisions when they genuinely understand the issues involved. That is why we place particular emphasis on clear, accessible and practical advice, taking the time to explain the rules that apply to your situation, their practical implications and the different options available to you.
Clarity also means knowing where you stand. We explain the different stages of your matter, the checks that need to be carried out, the likely timeframes and the formalities involved, so that you understand what is happening and what comes next.
For our international clients, making French law accessible also means providing bilingual support and taking the time to explain differences between legal systems. This helps avoid the confusion and misunderstandings that can arise when different languages and legal cultures meet.
Our aim is not simply to answer your questions, but to give you the understanding you need to make informed decisions.
Supporting
Every situation is unique. So is every client.
Beyond the legal aspects of a matter, we attach great importance to the quality of the relationships we build with our clients. Availability, attentive listening and a personal approach are at the heart of the way we work.
From the initial consultation through to the completion, and any subsequent formalities, we are committed to supporting you with the same standards of rigour, responsiveness and discretion.
Because behind every matter there are, above all, people — their plans, their families, their assets and, at times, their concerns — we strive to provide advice that reflects your individual circumstances, precisely when you need it most.
We believe that advice is only valuable when it is given at the right time, explained clearly and tailored to each client’s individual circumstances. This conviction guides how we practise as notaires.
